Charity Skydive

Martin and his daughter Eloise preparing for their skydive.

A huge thank you to Bridgetech for facilitating our charity skydive — and for quite literally taking the leap with Charlie’s Promise!

Bridgetech CEO Matthew Porter first heard about Charlie’s Promise when Martin Cosser spoke at the Times Insurance Awards in December 2024. Deeply moved by Charlie’s story, Matthew reached out to Martin, determined to do something big to raise both funds and awareness.

On the day, Ben Tighe, Suki Bola, Abi McSorley, and Max Martin from Bridgetech, a technology and consultancy firm from Aylesbury, joined Martin, his daughter Eloise, and Charlie’s best friend Will to take to the skies. They jumped from a staggering 15,000 feet, experiencing a full 60 seconds of free fall before landing safely back on solid ground — each with an enormous smile and a truly unforgettable memory.

The jump raised over £5,500, helping Charlie’s Promise reach up to 5,000 more young people through its educational and community outreach work.

Reflecting on the experience, Martin Cosser said:

“In my old world, before Charlie’s death, I would have been absolutely terrified. But after what we’ve been through, that fear leaves you — you’ve already faced the worst thing imaginable.”

Suki Bola, Chief People Officer at Bridgetech, added:

“It was terrifying, overwhelming, amazing, and absolutely worth it. Sharing the experience with Charlie’s family and friends — our biggest cheerleaders — made it all the more special.”

The skydive also highlighted future plans for Charlie’s Promise, including the creation of a Charlie’s Promise Hub — a safe, educational, and fun space for young people.

Bridgetech’s support didn’t end there. Three more team members — CEO Matthew Porter, James Goodwin, and Rosie Sargeant — also took the plunge on Friday, 23rd August.

Ben Tighe, Commercial Manager at Bridgetech, said:

“It was an exhilarating, terrifying, and unforgettable day — and meeting more of Charlie’s friends and family made it even more special.”

Abi McSorley added:

“Toppling out of the plane and looking back up at it was surreal — I felt incredible and full of excitement.”

This incredible effort is a shining example of how partnerships like this help Charlie’s Promise continue to raise awareness, inspire young people, and build safer communities.

A huge thank to to Matthew Porter and Bridgetech for your kind and generous support of Charlie's Promise and we look forward to more challenges with you.
