On 13th September, Sean Cornell — a valued friend, Trustee of Charlie’s Promise, and the creative talent behind our incredible branding — took on the 100km Thames Path Ultra Marathon to raise awareness and funds for our charity.
Starting at Putney Bridge in London, Sean and friends followed the Thames and wound their way to Henley in Berkshire, completing the route in just under 19 hours. Along the way, there were moments that demanded every ounce of physical and mental strength. Sean had to dig deeper than ever before — and we know there were times he called on Charlie for a little extra strength and spirit to see him through.
Sean, we never doubted that you would finish. Your determination, resilience, and commitment embody everything that Charlie’s Promise stands for.
Sean raised an incredible £6254.00 (including Gift Aid), making him our highest individual fundraiser. Our thanks too, to Sean’s friend Bob, who joined him on the challenge and also raised money for Charlie’s Promise. Bob brought in a further £1,559.97 in fundraising— bringing the combined total to a staggering £7,813.97.
